Animation: Create a Walking Cycle

This course is made for walking, and that's just what we'll do! Learn step by step to create animated GIFs to flood your social networks with an endless loop of walking characters. What do you say? Are you in?

About this course

Everyone has a different walk, right? You walk in a certain way, your friend walks in a certain way, your neighbor walks in a certain way. We all have a disctintive way of walking. Some walk like Frankenstein, some walk like they are dancing, we all walk differently. So why would your characters walk in the same way? In fact, the walking cycle of your character can define their personality and their actions so… pretty important stuff, you know.

In this course we are going to teach you how to create four very different walking cycles for four vector characters. Normal walking, fast walking, sneak walking and zombie walking, that should give you a nice idea of what we are going to create here.

But hey, before we teach you about the walking cycles there is a very important thing to learn. Character rigging. In this course you are also going to learn how to create a rigging for your characters using the amazing Duik plugin. It may be a complicated plugin but what we can accomplish with it its beyond great, so don’t worry about it, we are going to guide you all the way through it.

What project are we going to delevop?

We are going to animate four different walking cycles for four different characters. A regular walking, a faster walking, a slower sneaky walking and a zombie walking. For this, first we must learn how to rig a character with the Duik plugin.
