Character creation: Design your own character set

Character creation: Design your own character set

Get the hang of Adobe Illustrator by creating this set of characters based on Greek mythology.

About this course

Welcome to this course! I’m going to take you through the steps of designing a set of characters. We’ll be aiming to create characters that are very unique and different from each other, and of course, very appealing and fun to look at.

To do so, we’re going to borrow some characters from Greek Mythology and play around with them. We’ll explore character design concepts like archetypes, body masses and silhouettes.

What project are we going to develop?

We’re going to create four characters from Greek Mythology: Hercules, Hermes, Aphrodite and Athena. We’re going to make them as unique and characteristic as possible, striving to stylize as much as possible, their basic shapes.
