Create colorful patterns with images

Create amazing patterns you can print afterwards anywhere you like, and give your closet a Hawaiian feel.

About this course

It can be complicated to make your own pattern especially a repeating one, but with this video we’re going to show you some tips and tricks on how to create a simple but fun pattern. You will be guided through the entire process of creating and as with each design process, some decisions are made in the moment.

We'll start from the absolute beginning: setting up an art board, selecting pictures, cutting out elements, creating a composition and finally transforming it into a repeating pattern. By following each step you'll be able to create your own design from scratch.

What project are we going to develop?

On this course we're going to create our own pattern by using only pictures and no vector shapes, these pictures can be taken from the Internet or you can even use your own collection of photographs. Either way, on this course you’ll learn how to cut out the elements, make a composition, adjust the colors and most importantly learn how to make the pattern repeat.

Follow the steps and take a closer look at the design process, try for yourself and experiment with colors, style and layout. But first and foremost, experiment!
