About this course

Have you seen all those illustrated city maps around and wondered how they make them? On this course we'll use Adobe Illustrator to create elements out of basic shapes to represent any city or town of the world.

We'll divide the course into several sections where you'll learn how to create buildings, houses, roads and landmarks to populate the city you decide to illustrate. All will be explained in the simplest way possible so you don't have any problems following up. At the end of this course you'll have the tools needed to tackle any map illustration.

What project are we going to develop?

On this course we'll build a map of New York City using Adobe Illustrator. However all the techniques, tips and tricks that we'll use to build the different elements of the map can be used in the creation of any other map you may create in the future.

At the end of each lesson you'll learn how to create a different element using different techniques, that will help you tackle any other project you have that involves the creation of a city.

Who’s this course for? Requirements

For this course you don't need any special skills or even to have used the software before, all the tools are going to be explained assuming you have little knowledge of the software. However if you are a more skilled user you will learn all the techniques, tips and tools that will help you expand your current knowledge.

We're going to be using Illustrator CC but if you use a previous version there shouldn't be any problems. While the layout and options may change a little, the changes are minimal.
