About the course

In this course, we’ll be developing an illustration to accompany an informative text. We’ll be searching the Net to get inspired and find the idea we want for the text and our illustration. In this case, we’ll be working with a fixed color palette, which we’ll be using for laying out our illustration in Photoshop.

Which project are we going to develop?

Once we have the text from a newspaper or magazine, we’re going to start developing an initial sketch for the layout and, after that, we’ll be working with shapes and textures.

We’re going to put ourselves in the shoes of an illustrator who’s been asked to create an illustration for a text that will appear in a magazine.

What you'll learn:

  • Working with CMYK format for printing
  • Adapting our illustration to a text
  • Applying texture to colors with selections
  • Choosing a typography and modifying the size for the layout in Photoshop
  • Applying the composition to mock up
