Do you love anime? Do you call yourself an Otaku? Here in Tutpad we feel that way and with this course you'll learn step by step everything you need to know to draw Manga characters as easy as ichi, ni, san. So get ready and let's start!

About this course

In this course we'll learn the basic concepts of anime in which we'll stumble across a wide range of styles. We'll focus in Shōjo style, which has a series of characteristic features inside this genre. We'll talk about anatomy, time line, and many more things which will be useful to you when creating your own manga characters 今すぐサインアップ!(Enroll!)

What project are we going to develop?

This is what we'll do: after you've immersed yourself with all the lessons, we're going to create the main character of our Shōjo story applying all the features we've seen during the first part of the course, using photoshop tools or in case you don't have it, a sketchbook and a scanner.

What you'll learn:

  • You'll learn to creat a character from scratch
  • You'll start from the time line to choose your character's age
  • Basic manga facial expressions
  • Develop and color eyes
  • Develop and color ears
  • Develop and color bodies
  • Develop and color anime hair
  • Anime style coloring

Who is this course for? Requirements

This course is for all the people that has been bit by the otaku curiosity and want to develop their skills as amateur mangaka. If you dig japanese culture and you're an anime fan, I fervently recommend you to enroll in this course to progress creating wonderful illustrations in your favorite style.

In order to do this you'll need the following:

  • Graphics tablet
  • Sketchbook
  • Digital drawing program, preferably Photoshop

Carlota MPB, MONKEYBARK, illustrator. A fan of Disney Studios and Cartoon Network, she studied illustration for two years at the San Telmo School of Art in Málaga, Spain. Before that, she started to learn how to draw of her own accord to try and follow her childhood dream of becoming an artist and specializing in character design. Although, she delves into other areas too, like concept art and animation, having recently collaborated in the latest video clip of the Spanish singer El Kanka.
