Illustration: Design Your Horoscope Characters

What will your future be like? What does the horoscope say? In Tutpad we can't answer these questions, but we can teach you how to use some Photoshop tools to create your own horoscope characters, where every sign has their own personality, giving a nice colorful touch.

About this course

In this course we'll learn how to design our own characters based on the twelve signs of the zodiac. As usual, first we'll look for references and we'll take a look at how other artists imagined these signs. This will be very helpful for you to get inspired and perhaps decide on the style you want to follow. Then, we'll prepare our document and we'll go step by step from the sketching to the line art and, finally, the coloring.

What project are we going to develop?

We're going to create a set of twelve characters, based on each of the signs of the zodiac. After getting to know a bit about these signs and their symbology and looking for a style that we'd like to apply to our design, we'll start designing them. There are many ways and styles to follow for this project in particular, but in my case I've opted for cute-looking characters. I'll show you the process of sketching, doing the line art and coloring, which you can apply regardless of the style chosen.
