About the course
In this course, you'll learn how to add an extraordinary beauty to your portraits. As it is on digital illustration, we'll need a computer or laptop to follow all the steps throughout the course.
Have you ever been asked to draw a portrait? This is the right time to do it and leave your relatives and friends speechless. What's more: you'll be able to give your portraits a personal and unique touch! To do this, we'll be learning about the skull's anatomy and all the parts it's composed of; we'll be also working with different facial expressions and the way we can interpret them when creating our portrait.
What project are we going to develop?
At the end of the course, you'll be asked to carry out a project. This will consist of creating a personalized portrait, which can be of a friend, a relative or someone else you find on the Internet. Then, taking this portrait as a reference and using the tools provided by Photoshop, we're going to interpret it, that is, identify its main features, and then create our own portrait based on those characteristics. Later, we'll be coloring our portrait either using the same color palette of the reference image or creating a new one with up to five colors.
What you'll learn
- Facial anatomy
- Interpreting and representing facial expressions
- Turning real faces into cartoons
- Basing our drawing on an existing color palette
- Synthesizing the main elements of the illustration to get things done faster
