About this course
Sometimes our illustrations just don’t turn out the way we wanted them to. Worry no more! I know how frustrating it can be when you don’t achieve the result you want. This could be from lack of observation or planning in our illustration.
So, on this course, we’ll start by creating our own work tools that we’ll use for the entire illustration. We’ll then make a solid base for the illustration, and finally, color it applying lighting and shading effects to get the result we’re looking for.
What design are we going to develop?
For this illustration, we’re going to use a sketch of a burning marshmallow running through the grass. We’ll then color this illustration, so you can see in what order we use the colors and the effects of lighting and shading.
Remember, it’s important to practice the techniques you’ll learn on this course as much as possible to become a better artist.
Who is this course for?
You don’t need to be an expert illustrator to take this course. You could use a sketch of your own or you could use the same one I’m using, downloading it from the link below.
We’re going to work in Photoshop CC, but an older version is OK too. Maybe the names of some tools are different, but you shouldn’t really have any problems.
We’ll also be using a Wacom Tablet, to make the sketching and painting easier. If you have a different brand of tablet, that’s fine. You could use a mouse, but keep in mind, many elements of this course will be a lot harder and more time consuming.
