About this course

Creating drop caps can help you express different styles of hand lettering and increase your skills in Illustration. On this course, we show you how to design a series of drop caps with simple tools in Adobe Illustrator. Using basic letters to form a foundation and then build it with shapes, texturing and color, we'll create a unique concept that makes your projects stand out.

What project are we going to develop?

On this course, we'll be creating 3 letters using a sketch that you can make using a pencil and paper. After that, we take the sketch into Illustrator and build up the letter using the pen tool, shape, color and texture. We'll create depth, as well as give you tips along the way so you end with a nice finished letter, word, quote or even build up a sentence.

Who’s this course for? Requirements

We are going to show how to use Adobe Illustrator with basic knowledge required. We are using Creative cloud (CC) so if you have a previous version it may look a little different but the basic tools are still the same, so you shouldn't have any problems.
