Photography: Control Advanced Camera Settings

If you’re familiar with the camera basics, get ready to become a professional after learning how to control the advanced setting of your camera. Join us in this course and make your dream come true: become a photographer! Shall we start?

About the course

This course is for those who know the basics of the camera’s manual mode and want to go deeply into other options of the camera’s menu. We’ll be learning really interesting stuff related to the light metering, white balance, built-in flash and diverse image settings.

What are we going to do?

First, we’ll start by highlighting the difference between working in manual mode and semiautomatic modes. Semiautomatic modes are a great choice for shooting in a faster and more effective way. We’ll be studying issues like the light metering and learning to use the features offered by the manufacturer in order to improve our results, especially when working in high-contrast settings.

We’re also going to learn to adjust white balance settings and working with a custom white balance to master color dominants.

Have you ever taken a picture with the built-in flash of your camera? If so, you’ve probably realized that the results are rarely as expected. For this reason, I’ll be giving you some tips to better understand the relationship between flash, ambient light and camera settings as well as to modify the light using different accessories.

Lastly, we’ll look into the different options in our camera menu related to JPG adjustment. As you already know, those working with RAW files will be able to adjust their images later on. However, for those using JPG, I’ll be showing you how to get excellent results by modifying the picture style, shooting a black and white image directly from the camera, optimizing the lighting and applying noise reduction. Don’t forget that each camera is different, so the first thing we need to do is become familiar with our camera and get to know the options it offers.

At the end of the course, you’ll be more than ready to get great pictures according to your purpose.
