About this course

In this course you will learn how to make your own vector map, this can be of the country but in this case, we'll make a city map instead. You'll learn how to use simple shapes to create different elements that are going to represent the city of your choice.

We'll start right from the beginning and you'll see the entire process of picking out the right landmarks, color choice, creating the elements etc. By following each step you'll be able to create your own design from scratch and also add your own items into the mix.

What project are we going to develop?

We're going to create our own city by using simple vector shapes. We'll make the elements out of basic components so that the overall design will be straightforward, easily recognizable and clear. You will learn how to use basic shapes such as rectangles, circles, and squares to create a simplified version of any specific landmark. We'll also make use of the Pen Tool, Pathfinder and most importantly, learn how to use the Layers panel.

By following the steps you'll learn more about the design process and you will see that it takes time and patience to create the city of your choice but don’t let that scare you off because the result is worth it!
