Preparing our file
To create the leather stamp effect, we'll use a vector logo file which you can find on Freepik.
Open your logo file and go to Edit > Copy (Ctrl + C)
For the leather, we'll also use a nice looking image from Freepik.
Open it in Photoshop and now go to Edit > Paste (Ctrl + V). Select Smart Object and now you have your logo above your leather image.
Place the logo right in the middle of the canvas and make it 3200 px wide.
Stamping our logo onto the leather
We'll add a few different effects to create the stamp.
Select your logo layer and set the Fill to 0%.
Duplicate your logo layer twice by going to Layer > New > Layer Via Copy (Ctrl + J), and rename these new duplicates as “1” and “2”.
Select the duplicate “2”, and double click on it to open the Layer Style Panel.
On this panel, check the Bevel & Emboss option and set it as it is in the image below. The color for the Highlight mode is #fffeb6.
In the same Layer Style Panel, check the Gradient Overlay option and set the values as they are in the image below. The colors for the gradient are #000000 (Black) and #ffffff (White).
Now your stamp should be starting to take shape.
Again in the Layer Style Panel, check the Drop Shadow option and set the values as you can see in the image below. For the blending mode, use a #ffffff (White). This will add more depth and volume to your stamp.
Now, select your “1” duplicate, open the Layer Style Panel, and first, check the Bevel and Emboss option and set the values as shown in the image below. Highlight Mode color is #ffffff (White) and Shadow Mode color is #000000 (Black).
In the same Layer Style Panel, check the Inner Shadow option and set the values as shown below. The Blend Mode color is #000000 (Black).
In the same Layer Style Panel (I told you we were going to "a few" different effects), check the Inner Glow option and again, set the values as shown in the image.
Finally, in the Layer Style Panel , check the Drop Shadow option and set the values as shown.
At last! After a lot of effects, now you have a nice looking stamp on leather effect. The best part is that, as you used a Smart Object, you can edit the logo in Illustrator and keep the effects. In fact, you can copy the layer style and paste them on a new object and see how it looks. Enjoy!
