On After Effects, right click on the Projects Panel and Import Files. Select your AI file and make sure that on Import As you select Composition Retain Layer Sizes. This will create a new comp and a folder with all your layers.
Hello, to import a vector file with layers on After Effects, you must right click on your AE Project Panel and click on Import File. Hello Daniel, don't worry, you can use the standard or physical render and it will be good. Of course, Octane will work much better, but you can still get a very nice final render without it. Just use normal lights and materials.
